How We Started

Th!nk Web4

As we recently coming upon Th!nk’s 4th year anniversary, it’s pretty cool to see how far we’ve come and the many accomplishments we have made, all through God of course. We were just 4 four girls who were friends when Th!nk started, but now we are so much more. I think our story of how we started is an important part of Th!nk’s history, almost like a testimony, that everyone should read.

We were just 4 girls who did B.R.I.G.H.T. Lights (a Bible study) together, that was all. Our lesson that day was ‘How to Develop a Ministry’ and I’m pretty sure something stuck with each of us that day: that we needed to develop a ministry. In the summer of 2013, God placed in each of us the desire to want to write an online Christian girls magazine. The name was a little challenging to come up with. I mean with 4 girls, there are so many ideas and opinions that it’s hard to agree on one thing. With God’s help, we came up with the name Th!nk. After that, we started brainstorming ideas like what pages we would write, who would write them, and even how we would start the magazine. We sent out many emails to our friends and family to ask for subscribers. A few weeks later, we were ready to email our July 2013 Edition (document) out to our 14 subscribers.

Now we are working on our 49th edition of Th!nk and have more subscribers than we could ask for. Praise the Lord! I can not believe how far we have come! Not to mention, there has been many difficulties like our friend Jess leaving us, and not having many subscribers, but God has gotten us through those tough times and he has been very good to us.

Recently, we have also added our new authors (Ellie, Tessa and Abigail) who have been such a big help to us. They continually remind me to be an example and a leader and they are a lot of fun! I’m so glad I get to work with them.

Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil; plans to give you a hope and a future.

As of 6/30/2017:

With celebrating our fourth year of Th!nk, I am incredibly impressed. There are so many things that I could talk about what we did, but in reality, it wasn’t us at all. It was God. None of this would have been possible without His orchestrating of people, His guidance in our decisions and His prompting and working on our lives. It can be easy to take all the credit, but looking back, there were so many changes and blessings that were only by God’s power.

We have definitely faced our struggles with the leaving of authors, technical difficulties, health problems, and business with school and other activities. It can be easy to give up, BUT God is the only one who has helped us be able to produce 48 magazine editions and not skip a single month. He has united dedicated writers who have a love for Him to create consistent content. If anything I would call this magazine “God-breathed”.

On the positive side, I want to praise God for His faithfulness, His love, and His mercy. Sara and I had no idea where this magazine was going to take us. It was just something we thought would be fun for the summer. God has provided us with amazing writers. Even though they have come and gone, He has always been bringing different people to our attention to ask to write– people who share our same passions. God has also provided us with some incredible opportunities, specifically with the people we have been able to interview in Detailed Dialogue. I think all us authors were freaking out when we were able to interview Jamie Grace!!! Not to mention all the fantastic authors and YouTubers we also had the chance to talk with.

I also want to mention the amazing subscriber base we have have. Although it has been “slow” at times, God has been adding in ways we couldn’t have, especially to our website. With Sara and I starting our own blogs, we have been able to reach out into different communities and bond with other bloggers. Our magazine has been able to reach people from all around the world which is incredible to think about. Lately we have been trying to invest more in our website and I am starting to see the results.

I’m excited to see where this journey will go. This magazine has always been a special hobby of mine. I have loved seeing how far we’ve come. Through this experience, I have learned to become a better writer and learned time management, but most importantly, I have grown in my walk with Christ. It’s so cool to be surrounded by such an amazing group of believers. I have loved using my gift of writing to prepare the kingdom and to spread the good news.

We don’t know what will happen with Th!nk in the future, but we can bet that it’s in God’s hands and that He has great plans for it. I want to thank YOU for joining us on this journey and for being apart of our Th!nk family. Each one of our readers is valuable and has a special place in my heart. Thank you for the unbelievable support!

Cheers to 4 years and to many more! To God be the glory forever!

I love that you guys take the time to make this! Too many magazines are full of unchristian values and teach people to practice vanity, and it’s refreshing and wonderful to see you guys make a magazine full of Christian values. Keep up the great work!!!

Thanks, Meagan! Your comment reminds me of Hebrews 12:1-3 (NIV): Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
