How has your month been? For a lot of us over here at Th!nk, it’s been quite busy with school picking up! However, we are excited to share this month’s magazine with you, on the topic of faith. We’ve got testimonies from two teenage girls like you, and some hopefully encouraging articles about Bible verses, faith; plus a book review and some faith filled songs!  Not to mentioned the mouth watering recipe. 😉 Let us know what you think!

Detailed Dialogue – Isabelle Ingalls

What is the goal/ purpose of your blog?

As al3 (2)l actions in life should be, to glorify God. I want the Christian worldview not to be something regulated to Sundays and church camp, but rather somethings we use always when we look at the world. I based my blog’s name off the C. S. Lewis quote: “I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen; not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.” We can use God’s Word as our glasses, through which we can see the world clearly. So I want to see everything else, to examine it all in the light of His truth.

What prompted you to start your blog?

3 (2)It was actually a bit of a long, convoluted path. I really enjoy teaching. I feel like I’ve been blessed to be so poured into, to be surrounded by and to experience so much truth and learning; and I’ve always wanted to pour that into others’ lives, to take all the things I’ve learned, and give it to others so they can go even further than I can. I have been blessed that writing comes fairly easily to me (much easier than the disjointed randomness that my speech usually is!) so I thought that would be the most effective way to do so. Of course, I have a bit (ok, a lot) of a procrastinator in me, and so I considered starting a blog about a year ago and, well, never got around to it. But, both God and my parents kept bringing back up this topic, and I finally said, “Ok God, I’m not sure what I’m doing, or if I will even have much to write about, but I’ll try!” Fortunately, He is very talented at making beautiful things out of un-talented people!

What is one thing that you want to accomplish with your life?

3 (2)Well, my dream for a long time has been me, a godly husband, and many children all fitting into one cozy house. I pray that God allows me and enables me to be a wise and loving wife and mother, who leads her children in righteousness, and who encourages and builds up her husband to great things. But in all of life, including the single portion, I want to edify and hearten others, to comfort them as they’re going through the struggles of life, and cheer them on as they climb the highest summit. When I look back on my life, I hope to see one full of boldly proclaiming the Gospel and loving others.

If there was one  thing you thought was important for tween/teen girls to know, what would it be?

3 (2)I think it would be to direct your focus in the right direction. So much in these years is directed towards appearance, towards accomplishments, towards associates. Even the good advice! But that is putting the focus on yourself, on the things you have, or the things you’ve done, or the things you wear. And when you’re busy looking in the mirror, you’re not looking at Jesus. Don’t get me wrong, godly modesty is important, godly choices are important, and godly friends are important. But God is most important. If we keep our focus on Him rather that ourselves, then I believe that He will bring forth all the good fruits in our lives.

How have you benefited from your blog?

3 (2)Writing this blog has forced me to live life more purposefully, to always look at the meaning and worldview of my actions and amusements. When I write, I must think more clearly and more deeply, or else my thoughts make no sense! This has helped me to see God’s truth and God’s word in all of life, and to be ever aware of and thankful for Jesus’ love and sacrifice. I pray that through this blog, He continues to draw me ever closer to Himself!

Thank you, Isabelle!

Prayer Prompts

Prayer Prompts

We’ve already mentioned the extreme importance of prayer for those who do not know God yet as their personal Lord and Savior, but here we want to issue a challenge. Compile a list of 30 people you know of that do not know Jesus. Start with those closest to you: unsaved friends and family members. Commit to work through the list, praying for one person each day. I know from personal experience that it will be hard to stay on top of it and not slack off, but every time you find yourself distracted or ‘running out of time’ to pray for those on your list, remind yourself of the importance of prayer and their salvation, and look up a scripture giving us this very command.* An idea is to ask another person to do it with you and help keep you accountable. A parent or sibling are probably the best options for this since you see them everyday. So I ask again: please join me in this challenge. Pray! And email us the results! If you want, email us and we would love to help keep you accountable… and you can do the same for us!
*Here are some suggested Scriptures to get you started: John 6 and John 17…

Why Witness?

Reasons to Witness

Here are 8 reasons I think you should witness. If you are considering witnessing here are some points I hope you will think about.

  • Witness because you can- God has given us the physical ability to speak and witness to others so we should do it. Where I live, we are very blessed to not be persecuted for our beliefs and Christianity so if you have the freedom to witness and talk about God, you should do it!
  • Witness because God is with you- God is always watching over us and has given us the Holy Spirit. He is always with us and there to help us and comfort us. God used Paul and Moses who weren’t good speakers at all. Our own weaknesses shouldn’t be used as an excuse! God  can use them even more than our strengths!
  • Witness because God has given you special abilities- God gives us each unique abilities, experiences, and passions that we can use to reach different people. One person may be able to talk or reach out to someone differently than another and impact them more. You may have THE story someone needs to hear.
  • Witness because it’s what God calls us to do- God calls us to go out into all nations and baptize people. I don’t think it could be more obvious. He tells us to witness to others and we should do it because we follow Him and love Him.
  • Witness because God can do something greater- God can do so much more when we take the stand and witness to others. Who knows, one person may become two or three people. God can do greater things when we trust Him and are bold.
  • Witness because it can change someone’s life- Witnessing can impact someone and change the way they live.
  • Witness because we know the true God and overflow to share it with others- We have joy because we know the true God and have confidence in Him. We want everyone to feel that same joy!
  • Witness because everything will be okay- A lot of times we miss out on blessings because we’re afraid or it makes us uncomfortable. We need to stop listening to the lies of Satan, who has a way of making good things look bad.

After reading this I suggest that you talk to God and ask Him what His will is for you and if He’s calling you to witness to someone. Is there a certain person in your life who you feel like you could witness to? A friend? A neighbor? A classmate? A co-worker?
