Real Life stories
Fleas
By a 12 year-old-girl
This is not really a story about me, but it is a true story I have read. It is really a Chapter book about a woman named Corrie Ten Boom, this is only a little incident from that book. Corrie and her older sister were in a Prison camp because they hid Jews in their home. When they entered the room in which they were to live in for the whole time they were in that camp they were met with a dirty, crowded room full of women with about five per bed. The beds were full of fleas! They both were disgusted but suddenly Corrie’s older sister remembered a Bible passage about being thankful in everything. Even for the fleas. They then prayed and thanked God for their safety, for being together, and… for the fleas. A while later they discovered the benefits of the fleas. The Jail Keepers didn’t want to even go into the room at all. The two sisters than were free to hold Bible meetings with the their many roommates without worry about being caught with the smuggled Bible. So, even if we don’t see why we should be thankful about a sprained ankle, the flu, or fleas we should thank God and remember that he has a plan and is in control.
Bad Day?
By a 12 year-old-girl
Everyone has a bad day every once in a while. Should we really call it a bad day though? When you think about it, God provides for us everyday and plans the day out perfectly. So by saying we are having a bad day, this means that God made a mistake and is bad. Which He isn’t because he is sinless. It may not be how we want it to be, but it’s how God does. God knows what is going to happen and If you read Jeremiah 29:11 it says that He has plans that are to prosper us and not to harm us. Yes, a day could be challenging or not the funnest, but when you think about what God(the creator) has given us, there are so many things to be grateful for. The next time you think you are having a “Bad Day”, think of all the things God has done. I’m sure you will see that you can’t have a bad day because of God. I hope you will learn from my thought!
No Time!!
by a 12-year-old girl
One day I was in a rush to go somewhere and I had a lot to do before we left. I was rushing around the house hoping I wasn’t forgetting anything when I suddenly realized that I was needlessly worried. God was in control and I didn’t need to worry. If God wanted me to bring anything he would provide the time for me to get it or if he wanted me to do something he would provide the time to do it. Guess what? I managed to bring everything I needed and get everything done… and it was a lot more fun this way! I just let it all go and put everything in God’s hands. Do when you feel really busy or worried, stop and put your worries in God’s hands. I hope you will learn from my experience!
