Life’s Application
In this story, read about a girl named Anna who finds out that God can try to talk to you. After reading the story, we have provided some questions that go along with this story.
“Ugghhh!!! Why did I do that again!!” Anna thought to herself. “Just a few minutes ago I purposed to look at the world through my savior’s eyes, especially in my relationships with my siblings!!” Frustrated Anna prayed, “Lord, it is just too hard. I can’t do this. How can I go from one thing to the opposite so quickly!!” glancing at the clock Anna continued, “Exactly three minutes ago I told you passionately that I would, try my best to be sensitive to my family’s needs and not to argue with them but look at the bigger picture. Father, how can I fight this battle against satan, when everything around me is telling me to live however I want… especially in ways displeasing to you?! I feel like I am the only one in the world with this problem. I feel hopeless!! How can I live my life for you when I can’t live three minutes for you??” All of a sudden Anna remembered a verse she’d read earlier that day… exactly three minutes ago. In Ephesians chapter 6 it had said, Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God. So, thumbing through her Bible Anna came to 1Peter 5:8-9 she read, Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. “Wow God. Thank you oh Lord for leading me to this verse. Oh Jesus, Thank you that I am not alone, and even if there was no one else on earth battling with me, you would be there battling too.”
Sometimes God may be trying to tell you something. So be willing to listen to him. He or the holy spirit will speak to you. I know that you may think that God won’t speak through you but he is the same God that he was in Bible times. Remember to spend time each day when you are by yourself and its quiet. Then God can speak to you. He won’t speak to you always but be ready just in case it’s important.
