The official language of Brazil is Portuguese unlike many other South American countries where the main language is Spanish. Northwestern Brazil is made up of undeveloped tropical rain forests and gets over 80 inches of rain per year. The country of Brazil is made up of 26 states plus a federal district in Brasilia.
